Candelaria in Tlacotalpan

The devotion to the Virgin of the Candelaria was brought by the order of San Juan de Dios from Spain, at the beginning of the 17th century. The festivity of the Candelaria date from the 19th century and the Virgin is venerated every February 2nd.


The duration of the Festivity goes from January 31th to February 9th, nevertheless, from January 31st to February 2nd are the most important days.

Gastronomy
The opportunity to test local dishes and typical beverages of Tlacotalpan does not lack, therefore on all sides you will be able to find a place, since an inn, tavern, restaurant or well, the typical stands located on the streets. You can try any kind of delicious dishes, mainly seafood, from river and sea.
